A Free Toolkit Teaches Children to Pause Before Believing an AI Voice or Photo
The under-16 social media ban is not expected to become law until spring 2027, so 23 printable resources mapped to the UK curriculum are what a parent or a teacher can put to use this term.

The UK government announced on 15 June 2026 that major social media platforms will be barred from giving accounts to anyone under 16. The law is expected to come into force in spring 2027, which leaves the best part of two school years in which the thing that protects a child is a habit rather than a rule.
What children meet in the meantime is now well documented. The NSPCC lists the artificial intelligence children commonly run into: chatbots that answer questions or hold a conversation, generative tools that make images, stories and music, deepfake technology that produces realistic but fake video and voices, and the AI summaries that sit at the top of search results. Because these are increasingly part of the apps, devices and websites children already use, the charity tells parents to check which services their child uses and whether AI features are built into them.
Into that gap has arrived a free library of 23 classroom and family resources for ages 5 to 14, finished in July 2026 by Safety Spotters, the children's imprint of Verity AI, a UK consultancy working on AI trust and safety. Everything is free to print and share, needs no login, collects no data from children, and contains no live AI.
